A Festival of Arts, Culture, Music, Dance, Sport, Diversity and Divas
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of Rainbow on the Plains festival 2020. We have gathered the best health information available and in light of the warnings of the experts we have made this decision now, before our guests commence their travel or leave from work.
Our community is currently free of any confirmed cases of Covid-19, and we feel a huge responsibility to help keep it that way.
We are asking for your understanding - We (you and us) are protecting people in our community who may have a greater risk of complications from COVID-19 than you or we do. At this stage social distancing is the best way we can help slow the progression of this virus.
All tickets already sold or stall sites booked will be honoured in 2021. Anyone who prefers a refund may email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ticket winners will be offered replacement tickets to future events.
At this stage the following smaller events will continue;
Saturday & Sunday morning yoga, Sip & Paint and Pride Cup (TBC).
Please book your place at these events so we can monitor numbers by visiting haymardigras.com.au/shop.
The winner of the Wellways art competition will be announced on Saturday and the exhibition will be open over the weekend. The illumination project will be deferred until Social Inclusion Week in November, alongside the Colour Run.
If anyone chooses to travel to attend these events please consider your choice if transport and perhaps use private vehicles over flying or public transport. Please consider your own health and self-quarantine if you display any symptoms.
We will be contacting all artists, sponsors and partners in coming weeks, and again we ask for your patience as we work through it all.
This cancellation will have emotional and economic impacts on us as organisers and on our town, and we also recognise the impact it may have on all of our supporters and visitors. We see you; we share your devastation and we ask for your kindness.
Please do visit Hay during 2020.
Please look after yourselves and monitor your health throughout this tough time.
Please stay with us as we re-group and please keep those incredible costumes.
You can stay updated via our social media and please mark 26-28 March 2021 into your diary.
